Viral Grand Prix 2008

 

It's driving us away from our telly screens and onto our computers. Guerilla TV has come of age – from have-a-go bedsit enthusiasts to big brands there’s new competition in town - winning over traditional viewers with bite-size television.


This Summer the MediaGuardian Edinburgh International Television Festival are staging a Viral Grand Prix – an internet race to see who can get the most views for an original clip during a three week period in August.


The competition is open to UK residents. Clips must be no longer than 3 minutes and suitable for pre-watershed viewing. Films will be posted at mgeitf.co.uk and the most viewed clip will be announced at the prestigious international festival and win the coveted title.


To enter the competition:


- Entries must be submitted by July 28th.


- Virals will be posted on the MGEITF website from 4th August and then entrants can do whatever they want to get them noticed and to get the most traffic.

 

To submit entries:

Entries need to be submitted in both the following formats:


1.    Electronic.
Can be any of the following: .wmv, .avi, .mov, .mpg
All need to be less than 100MB.

2.    Hard-copy.
Can be any of the following: DV cam, digi beta, mini DV, beta SP
