The Festival

Festival Team

The Edinburgh International Television Festival is a non profit-making organisation with charitable status, relying entirely on sponsorship and delegate fees.

Festival Staff

Amy Brown - Festival Director
Amy began her career at BAFTA where she worked for nine years, ultimately as the Head of Membership and Events. After completing her MBA at London Business School, she moved to Deloitte Consulting to join the Human Capital group, where she loved the work but hated the early mornings and formal attire. She joined the Television Festival in 2007 and now enjoys wearing trainers to work every day. As the Festival Director, Amy works closely with the Advisory Chair and Committee to deliver the content for the Festival each August, and also with the Executive Committee to ensure things run smoothly financially and operationally. She also takes an active interest in the Festival’s two talent initiatives, The Network and Fast Track. Amy is married and lives in North London with her husband and her extensive collection of trainers.

Su Moore - Commercial Director
Su finds writing about herself in the third person a bit sinister, and blames Facebook for making it acceptable. With a degree in war, specialising in submarines, and a previous job at the world’s largest maritime museum, it seemed inevitable that she’d end up at MGEITF! She delights in obtuse facts, adores Wikipedia, and is most likely to be found banging on about her smokin’ hot wheels™ while other members of the team glaze over, nodding just often enough to not appear rude. Su is responsible for raising and managing Festival sponsorship; directing commercial operations; marketing, sponsored events and branding. She is always delighted to hear from any new potential sponsors on +44 (0) 207 278 9515.

Suzy Lambert - The Network and Fast Track Director
Suzy started her Edinburgh career on the TVYP (now The Network) Committee back in 2001 and came to realise she enjoyed helping out with this fantastic event more than her day job. After stalking Joe Godwin, the Chair of the scheme, she now runs the Festival’s talent initiatives. She has worked in the TV industry mainly in a PR role, including seven years at Flextech Television and a stint at the Community Channel. At MGEITF, she is responsible for the delivery of The Network and Fast Track including the programme, fundraising, marketing, working closely with The Network and Fast Track Committee and overseeing The Network at Work and further training across the year. And of course herding 150 young people around Edinburgh…..

Kam Kandola - Editorial Producer
Kam’s passion of film, television and London got her a one-way ticket to from up north to the rather random world of airline movie programming.  Her first TV job was at Carlton TV, then Channel 4 where she did lots of things including watch hours of Big Brother.  The red carpet glamour of BAFTA then tempted her away to produce and programme TV, film and videogames events for audiences across the UK.  Her most memorable/embarrassing professional moment being when telling Tom Cruise’s security she really does work for BAFTA and is not a crazy loon stalker, with him only to walk past bemused.  She joined the Festival team in late 2008 and oversees the development of sessions, working closely with the Festival Director, Advisory Committee. She counts her shoes; Madonna memorabilia and nonsense pop band trivia as her most prized possessions, and is trying to not forget how to speak Punjabi and Spanish.

Adam Rossetto - Sponsorship & Marketing Coordinator
Adam began his professional career with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation whilst juggling university studies in Commerce and Media. He caught the Festival bug while covering the music festival WOMAD in Australia and immediately decided Edinburgh was the next place to be. He took a six month career break exploring Latin America, inflicting poor Spanish on unsuspecting locals, attempting salsa despite his questionable rhythmic ability and gaining an unhealthy obsession for decorative Portuguese tiles. His role at MGEITF is to coordinate Festival sponsorship and marketing activities: devising and executing advertising and marketing campaigns, organising client involvement and events, while delivering on sponsorship agreements.

Warsan Ali - The Network & Fast Track Coordinator
Armed with a bachelor's degree in Politics & Sociology, Warsan entered the working world at a literary agency where her chief aim was to unearth a gem amongst the mountainous 'slush pile' of weird and (not so) wonderful submissions and prepare for international book fairs. This led to an enjoyable stint at Penguin Books. Realising she spent far too much time watching films and engaged in box-set marathons of shows like The Wire, the festival talent initiatives seemed the perfect combination of her love of TV and her events, training and talent development experience. A native Londoner, Warsan enjoys seeking out interesting new corners of the city and accumulating the sort of random trivia knowledge that never seems to be any use in pub quizzes. Her role at MGEITF involves a combination of marketing & communications, training, event management, programme content and managing alumni networks.

Holly Blake - Festival Assistant
Following the completion of her degree in Illustration at Brighton University, Holly spent six months travelling around South America learning Spanish and working with underprivileged children in Peru. After a short spell at Film London, some corporate film making and a fair amount of free work on music videos and award shows Holly is thrilled to have joined MGEITF. Having spent three summers rising up through the Festival ranks from steward to researcher, she is now a fully fledged member of the team providing support across the Festival and looking after the general running of the office. Now happily settled into village life in the home counties Holly is most likely to be found creating various baked goods in her pokey kitchen or, having spent too long eating the cake mix, going for a lengthy run in the country.
